Considering retirement

Hello all. I'm sure some of you will have noticed that I have placed {{considering retirement}} on my talk page. I have my reasons for this, tho it is nothing that necessarily involves me. Technically it involves everyone editing or viewing Wikipedia. Due to some circumstances regarding the higher-higher-ups (as in beyond admins) I'm not sure if I want to remain an editor on Wikipedia. If I have known you on Wikipedia for a while and you really wish to know more details then let me know here and I will send you an email with the details. I do not wish the details to be shared publicly here on Wikipedia or on the Wikipedia Discord server, or anywhere else involving Wikipedia and the WMF (excluding other Wiki's running on the mediawiki software that are otherwise not associated with the WMF). As the template says, nothing is set in stone at the moment, though it is something I am considering. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:15, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Update January 6, 2023: Retirement is still something I am considering, however it's more just a thought in the back of my mind that comes up every once in a while. There's not really a template for that so the considering retirement template will stay unless a more appropriate one can be found, as will this section. My thoughts have not changed much, however it's no longer something that's at the forefront of my mind. Maybe I simply just needed a vacation, away from Wikipedia (and most of the internet in general, tho I was still using the internet for things like YouTube and online features in games) which resulted in this update. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:44, 6 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That seems a shame. As long as you have been enjoying editing here and as log as you have been abiding by the rules I see no reason for you to allow other people to control your behaviour. Since I have not seen any divergence from the rules it must be that you are not quite enjoying yourself. By all means take a wiki break. I took one for several years. It was meant to be for a few months but I had burned out and lost the fun. For me, the fun is back. I hope it returns for you, too.
I feel a sense of loss, since we have just met, but your staying because I ask would be your allowing me to control you. So stay, for as long as you want, and return when you want if you leave. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:39, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would love for other people to not control my behavior, however I don't really have a choice. If you'd like I will email you more details as said are not something I want public here on Wikipedia. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:41, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you wish to send it I will read it. It is very rare that I respond by email. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:56, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand the points you make in your email. I know others have felt those things before. What they have found is that it generally all comes good in the end.
Out of deference to you and in accordance with the rules, I may not reveal, even by my answers, any of the actual points in your email 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:19, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I may choose to reveal them in the future. But for now they remain private via email. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:20, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If I have any advice for you, it is to choose to ignore the things you emailed me about, simply because nor you nor I can affect them. If building the encyclopaedia is enough fun then the rest of whatever it is you sent me can safely be ignored. This is why I concentrate on building the encyclopaedia by reviewing by writing, be improving, by offering article for deletion, etc etc. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:40, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's not something that's easy to do considering how much it can affect me. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 23:43, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you can stay Blaze Wolf. You were the one of the first editors I interacted with at the Teahouse, and you gave me a lift when I was a struggling newbie who didn't even know how to upload an image. If you would like to talk about something, feel free to email or DM me on Discord The Night Watch ω (talk) 01:12, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blaze Wolf! I saw the considering retirement above, and though I would understand, I hope you get to a place where you can choose to stay. You're a valuable editor on this project and you've been a big help to me, as well as others! Like I said, I would totally understand, but I sincerely hope to see you stay. I know that retirement may seem like a bad thing, Blaze Wolf, but it may mean a chance to look back at history. Speaking of, the Reverie Battles (that were archived in the Legends: Arceus wiki) were part of the Daybreak update, so I had to include them. - (12546a) 11:13, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

Ultraviolet open to public beta?

I noticed that on WP:RFP/R, you posted on your alt requesting for rollback to test UV. Just curious but is it open to public beta? Or is it simply not recommended to test out unless you know what you're doing? I ask this cause I've been waiting for it to come out for quite some time and have been waiting to test it out. Satricious (talk) 18:20, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Satricious: It's been in public beta for a while now. I would recommend not using it thought if you already have RedWarn since UV is currently not backwards compatible with RW. Hence why I'm using it on my alt and not my main account. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:22, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Blaze Wolf: Ah, so I see. Well I suppose I could disable RW temporarily to try it out if I were desperate. Thanks for the quick reply :p Satricious (talk) 18:27, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Satricious: I'm fairly sure once you install UV there's no going back since it overrides your RW configs... or at least I think. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:28, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, got it. Thanks for the heads-up. Satricious (talk) 18:34, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Satricious, @Blaze Wolf: The configuration is just another page on-wiki. You're perfectly free to view its history and restore a past revision which works with RedWarn should you switch back. Chlod (say hi!) 01:48, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from The SOFE Group (22:38, 29 January 2023)

I'm interested in creating a page for The SOFEI Group. Is this possible? --The SOFE Group (talk) 22:38, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not with that username. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 23:16, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sands Missing delete revert.

I agree it should be mentioned (and is comprehensively dealt with further down), but referring to in the lead smacks of sensationalism. Nothing has yet been established. Just today, one of his fellow hikers stated that Sands is a highly experienced mountaineer who could well have dug in and is waiting out the weather. Either way, this shouldn't be in there. It's Wiki - not The National Enquirer. 86.160.1.165 (talk) 16:53, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. IT's mentioned in the lead because of the infobox. That information is supported by multiple reliable sources. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:00, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Um

False positive? Olivetheother (talk) 18:01, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. Several violations of WP:NOTBROKEN and also MOS:NUMERAL. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:03, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Twinkle and global locks

Forgive me if I have you confused with someone else, but I believe somewhere you said something about being able to use Twinkle to request global locks at Meta, something about Twinkle's global preferences. Do you know anything about that? Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:51, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. IT's called Global Twinkle. I don't remember where you can find it however. I installed it and then have forgotten about where I found it. I'll do some digging to see if I can find it again. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:07, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:09, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Aha! I managed to find it. See meta:TwinkleGlobal. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:27, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ummm, I am not sure of my technical ground here. I assume I have to install the script on Meta? Can I still use it at en.wiki, though? Will it interfere with my "local" Twinkle?--Bbb23 (talk) 19:33, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. You install the script in your Global .js, and it won't actually interfere with the local version of Twinkle at all. In fact, it makes it much more useful by adding the feature of reporting users to meta:SRG without removing any of the other features. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:53, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do I need to quit and stop editing Wikipedia or I continue to edit the articles until you block me?

But since I don't have good English, do I need to quit editing Wikipedia for all, ask questions at teahouse, use a sandbox to make test changes, or continue to edit articles until blocked? You decide for me to choose in my log section. If you choose to block me, I will need to wait until my block has expired. Then, I might edit again and make changes. Thank you for responding to me. 204.129.232.191 (talk) 17:15, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I reply to you on my talk page. 204.129.232.191 (talk) 17:16, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
