Questions:

[edit]

Have you read the AMA FAQ?

  • Answer: Yes

How would you describe the nature of this dispute? (policy violation, content dispute, personal attack, other)

  • Answer: Content dispute

What methods of Dispute Resolution have you tried so far? If you can, please provide wikilinks so that the Advocate looking over this case can see what you have done.

  • Answer: I had reposted an article on Gene Stallings multiple times, and I have since apologized to user STS01; my actions in that regard were inappropriate. However, STS01 continues to post material on Gene Stallings (a living person) that is subjective and negative; STS01 also deletes my own edits, which he/she calls over-inflated.

What do you expect to get from Advocacy?

  • Answer: A way to mediate this dispute.

Summary:

[edit]

Editor STS01 and I obviously have very different opinions of Gene Stallings. STS01 appears determined to post opinions of Gene Stallings that cast him in a negative light. Furthermore, STS01 has repeatedly deleted my own edits of Gene Stallings' accomplishments, which I feel are pertinent to the article. I apologized to STS01 for poorly handling this situation initially, hoping it would open a dialogue. That dialogue has not happened. From my perspective, STS01 has a poor opinion of Gene Stallings; I have a good opinion of Gene Stallings. Obviously there are two sides to this debate. I am willing to allow STS01's negative comments if STS01 would allow me to post my positive comments. I will, of course, cite sources.

Discussion:

[edit]

Apparently AKparker is related to or has intimate feelings for this person. His only contribution here is to this one page and he is obsessively trying to remove facts about this mans life that are not to his liking. I was not the originator of the current statements about his involvement in NCAA sactions but they are factual and I agree that they are a significant chapter of his legacy and life and should be included on the page. What I do not think should be included are detailed narrations of every Alabama football season he coached in. If AKparker was not an obsessive Alabama football fan, he would spend a little time expanding the other parts of this page and not just the end of his career at the University of Alabama. - User:STS01 14:59, 6 December 2006

Questions for clarity

[edit]

AKparker: Looking at the page as it stands right now, I am wondering if you can let me know exactly what is included that should not be and what isn't included that should be. If you could also let me know your reasoning for this.

STS01: If you are so inclined, please feel free to respond as well.

Thanks, Jord 19:04, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

STS01's comments

I think this dispute was resolved once AKparker made the statement that he would leave my contributions if I left his. This page has been stable for several days now.
