Speedy deletion of Romaine Hodge

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Romaine Hodge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.  Ravenswing  16:32, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Timothy Hodge, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Beeblbrox (talk) 20:29, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Timothy Hodge

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Timothy Hodge, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. • If you have something to say about these deletions, the proper place is at the article's own talk page or at the relevant discussion at articles for deletion. You can get to the AfD debates from the link in the template on the page nominated for deletion. Once again, the reason this is happening is that you have not provided reliable sources as required by Wikipedia policy. Simply saying the pages deserve to exist accomplishes nothing, it is you who needs to do the homework if you want these articles to be kept. I would strongly suggest you read this page if you want to understand what Wikipedia is and how it works, as well as familiarizing yourself with the policy on sources. Beeblbrox (talk) 17:40, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have tried and tried to explain what the problem is to you, but you just don't seem to want to understand it. I think perhaps you would benefit from a having a Wikipedia mentor to help you. click here to learn more. Beeblbrox (talk) 21:01, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I'm the user that User:Xenocidic felt might be able to adopt you. I'd be willing to do it. Just get back at me. --JpGrB 03:46, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay.

[edit]

I set up the appropriate template boxes. Now, is there anything I can help you with off the bat? Oh yes, and I wanted to add, you only need to type the ~~~~ only once. Your signature appears multiple times on in your contributions to talk pages. Unless this is your custom signature? --JpGrB 04:01, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

becasue u are goin against my rights

Decline reason:

Sorry, your request does not address the reason for the block: abusing multiple accounts. You might want to take a look at Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks, but I would suggest that you let this block expire. 48 hours for abusing multiple accounts is not too harsh. Use the time to look over Wikipedia policies like notability and verifiability, and then come back with a better understanding of how we do things. — Okiefromokla questions? 18:23, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You should be grateful that this account has not been blocked indefinitely for disruption. Please stop

[edit]

Please understand that if you continue your disruptive behaviour of creating articles on non-notable subjects, you will be blocked again indefinitely. Your adopter is not here to create those articles for you. You need to show that you understand the policies here and that you can contribute positively, perhaps by adding content to existing articles. --Stephen 01:36, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is very true Daisy. If an article is notable and has references and such, I would be glad to help you. But an article is not notable just because of "television appearances". And once the blocking period is over we can possibly discuss this further. --JpGrB 05:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: New article.

[edit]

I have a possible suggestion for you until notability can be determined. You can create a user sub-page/personal sandbox. It can be left open so you and other editors can fix it until it can fall under WP:MUSIC. Just a suggestion. I can will help in any way that I can, but I will not go against Wikipedia policy to create an article that, at this time cannot be classified as notable. --JpGrB 00:37, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good solution. Daisy, click User:Daisy404/Timothy Hodge to start editing the article and we'll see how it goes. --Stephen 01:45, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There you go Daisy, the user who posted above me has helped you get started. --JpGrB 02:01, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And P.S. you don't have to start a "new section" everytime you post on my, or someone else's, talk page. --JpGrB 02:03, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Daisy if you edit the article link above it will not be deleted as it is in your userspace. It will need to be a good quality, referenced article to be moved into the Wikipedia mainspace. Let's see how you go. --Stephen 02:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the link was still red when I clicked here. So I've taken the liberty of putting the Infobox on the page. So here is the link. Just edit and fill in that much information since you seem to know it. Then begin by filling in some info underneath the box. I'll help you as you further yourself in the editing process. --JpGrB 21:31, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey.

[edit]

Yo, haven't heard from you in a little bit, I just wanted to see what's been going on. --JpGrB 10:38, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the page still needs a lot of work before it can go into the mainspace on WP. --JpGrB 21:20, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added tags to where we would need the extra references. As it is, the article is based on three references, of which two are self published news snippets, and one recounts a concert to only 500 people. Unfortunately, I cannot see Timothy verifiably meeting the requirements of WP:BAND or WP:NOTABLE until his album is released later this year and he gets more coverage. --Stephen 01:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Daisy, I've already referenced some of the things in the article. And if you need to know how to reference you can look at some other articles, or even the references in that to see how to format them. And for now, I'd presume you can use just about anything as a reference, since it is not in the mainspace, but as more information becomes available it will need more reliable references before it can be even considered for the mainspace. I personally have been working on an article located here for several months and it it still not ready for the mainspace. Your article needs a lot more work. --JpGrB 01:38, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, it's great that you added them, but you should also learn to actually add refs so they aren't just listed there. --JpGrB 19:38, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I'm saying, I mean, obviously I'll help you, but I will not do all the work for you. I will wikify a few of those refs, but to be a proper editor you'd have to learn to do this yourself. The articles listed in the reference section now only appear there because I properly referenced them within the article. (notice the <ref>[Article URL here (put a space) then add the proper title of the article] Accessed [[Enter month and day]], [[2008]]</ref> There is a little more to it, but that is the main part you need to know to add after whatever the statement is. --JpGrB 20:16, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And now that I look, I'm not actually sure how reliable those sources are. --JpGrB 20:21, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

yes i do, i was wondering what had happen to u, i really neeed ur help, i have been goin threw it with this article, ive been goin on tryin to properly edit the article, but im not doing something correctly, because the red tag marks appear with i check the preview page, i have been going in and kept on tryin, but no luck, i mean all of the references are there, i made sure , everything that needs to prove what ever is there, i tried to do what u did, but no luck, help me out please

Well, red links, just means there isn't an article for that specific link yet. And with the references, I said I will help you, I haven't a problem with that, but, as I stated before, I won't do the entire article for you. I hope you understand why. But I will look through and see what's going on, and, as I've stated before, I'm not sure exactly how reliable any of the sources you have are, but, seeing as it's a subpage, they should be okay for now, but before you try to move it into the mainspace (though not any time soon), the links required must be more notable. (No self-published sources, no forums, etc. To look at the criteria for reliable sources, I suggest looking through this page.) I hope this helps. And once again, I'm sorry I hadn't gotten back to you sooner. --HELLØ ŦHERE 00:03, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

as i mention before all the resources are there, i search the entire internet for it, and im not asking u to do the entire article for me, im asking u to help me complete it, as i said, i went it and tried to add the refences, and there were errors messages --Daisy404 (talk) 18:49, 7 September 2008 (UTC)daisy404--Daisy404 (talk) 18:49, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hey how have you been , i just dont know what else to do regarding this article user:daisy404

Perhaps it just isn't notable enough to be included on Wikipedia. Not everything is, but one day he may become notable enough and you'll have one up on the other people. If you're still interested in Wikipedia as an overall concept, you should contribute to the many more articles on any given topic and you can then come back to it as time progresses and notability is established. If there's anything I can help you with in this regard, do not hesitate to contact me. I'm on here just about everyday. Best regards and happy editing. --HELLØ ŦHERE 01:04, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
