Talk:Linguistics

[edit]

Suggesting that someone who cannot communicate in English use another Wikipedia is not "discrimination"; indeed, we have a whole category of template messages just for this. And as for your suggestion that I "use a dictionary", the problem with Nevill Fernando's messages is not that I don't understand the words; the problem is that he never puts them together in a way that is comprehensible. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 11:22, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Page protection

[edit]

Regarding this: if you think a page should be unprotected, the appropriate way to do so is to file a request at Requests for unprotection; removing the template from the page does nothing (as the template is not what causes the page to be protected, it's just a notice). I can tell you in advance, though, that this particular page will not be unprotected; the reason for protection is that there is a banned editor who has been edit warring on the page with IP socks for years, so semi-protection prevents him from doing so. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 19:12, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Linguistics ban proposal

[edit]

I'm sorry, but because of your uncooperative editing of the article I have suggested that you be banned from editing it further. I started a discussion at Talk:Linguistics#Ban User:Alinovic from editing this article; you may leave a statement if you wish. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 16:29, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Supriyya. Thank you. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 17:26, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
