I'm sorry to have not cited a reliable source but i don't really know if i can do that. It has been published by an italian comic book editor and i don't know if they want to have a citation here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.10.130.52 (talk) 16:55, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Stop reverting my edits

Bro stop reverting my edits on St Kilda FC season summaries. You have no clue about any of them. My edits make the page actually make sense as a season summary. You're reverting so much work into a horrible looking template. Give it a rest and trust that fans of the football club are only editing to make their club look better 49.198.107.192 (talk) 14:58, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Don't remove citations that support other content. See wp:verifiability Adakiko (talk) 15:04, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

are you a robot?

editing an opinion presented as fact to reflect accurate language does not require a source way to uphold white supremacy 2601:980:4000:9C0:2875:A155:368E:9DEC (talk) 11:18, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It would appear you are doing the same. "wikt:Enslaved" means to make a free-person a slave. Owning a slave is not enslavement. Owning a slave isn't any better. Adakiko (talk) 11:31, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have no dog in this fight, but I would like to point out, Adakiko, that you create work for other editors when you add content to any article because of your lack of understanding of punctuation and grammar. I write this here to use the example of what you wrote above. In ""...wikt:Enslaved" means to make a free-person a slave," hyphenating "free-person" is incorrect.
A hyphen is used as a compound modifier when the modifier comes before the word it is modifying. A compound modifier is made up of two or more words that work together to function like one adjective. For example, "it was a high-level meeting." However, you do not hyphenate when the modifier comes after the noun it modifies, as in "the meeting was of a high level."
Your grammar mistakes are not limited to hyphenation problems. Please familiarize yourself with punctuation before you edit. I suspect that English may not be your first language. In one article, you had a period in the middle of a sentence, which was something like "She married Joe Blow. in 1948 and had two children..." I find there are too many grammatical errors in your editing to think that was a typographical error. I draw your attention to this only to assist. If you would like, I could refer you to helpful websites. Just let me know if you are interested. All the best to you. MarydaleEd (talk) 01:10, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MarydaleEd: I added "free-person" to a Wikipedia article? Diff, please? Also, a diff for the last mention? BTW:I do wp:RCP. Very little actual content modification. Adakiko (talk) 12:24, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Adakiko, I am simply pointing out that I have found several grammatical errors in your editing and encouraging you to pay close attention to your grammar when you are editing. I have not followed behind you to check up on you, but I will if you want. I think rather than have me follow behind you in search of your errors, it would be better for you to just try to improve. I will be happy to let you know if I come across any other ones. I mean no disrespect. Just wanted to give you a heads up. All the best. MarydaleEd (talk) 01:43, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MarydaleEd: Evidence, please. A {{diff}} preferably, or an article link where I made an edit that added a grammatical error. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 07:30, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Of course. I am happy to comply. I am working on another article right now that is taking up a lot of my time, but as soon as I am finished I give you my word I will search for the errors I found. Keep in mind that since they are in the past, it might take me a while to locate the ones I saw. Thank you for responding to my "heads up" with the same respect in which it was offered. So many times people get really defensive in these types of situations, but I have not found that at all in your responses. It speaks well for your character. All the best.🙂
@MarydaleEd: No need to go through my numerous edits. I would recommend that if you have such issues in the future with me or others that you leave a page link or a {{diff}}. Especially someone who make numerous edits. Please realize that I do very little editing. I'm a bad editor. So those grammar errors are probably someone's edit that I reverted. Please examine some of my edit history: Special:Contributions/Adakiko and you will see edit summaries that are mostly "(Reverted edits by..." - me undoing someone's problematic edit which may be vandalism, unsourced content, unexplained deletion, spam, tests, etc. followed by "‎ Message re..." which is usually a warning template. Being a rather bad editor, I don't want to (probably nobody wants me to) analyze their edit(s) and pick out the good parts or add citations (usually). Their edit is saved in the wp:page history and the editor can fix it from that. Their talk page is usually added to my watch list and the template suggests leaving a message on my talk page. You can see from some of the editing history of my talk page that there are a few unhappy customers. Some of their comments and edit summaries have been WP:REVDELed (revision deleted). Happy editing! Adakiko (talk) 02:54, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, but no mistake was made as far as misunderstanding where you edited and where you reverted. However, you are absolutely right that I should have said nothing without giving you proper evidence. Forgive me. When I saw that you wrote "...means to make a free-person a slave" I jumped on that error too quickly, thinking it was a good time to point out other grammar errors I'd found in your editing. I will search for the incidents because you deserve to have proof from someone who makes an accusation. Again, forgive me for posting without being able to back up my comment in the moment. I was wrong. I am embarrassed for making that mistake. It was bad form on my part. All the best. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarydaleEd (talkcontribs) 03:08, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MarydaleEd: My apology, the "evidence" is at the top of this section! How embarrassing. Yep, bad English on my part. I will strive to do better. Best wishes Adakiko (talk) 04:44, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Adakiko (talk), it is clear that you would like this conversation to go away, and I am happy to comply. I fear my efforts to call attention to your grammatical challenges in hopes of helping you have served to make you uncomfortable. If that is the case, I am happy to apologize. That was never my intent. You were right to ask for evidence of my assertions and I was happy to locate them, but we will just call it a day on this subject. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I hope to be able to collaborate with you on an article some day. All the best.🙂 MarydaleEd (talk) 22:19, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@MarydaleEd: You are welcome to discuss it here. I am often frustrated and tired from all the vandalism and bad edits, so my mood does swing quite a bit. I think that "free-person" was due to my uncertainty with the topic. If it had been in an article, I probably would have done some research on the grammar. Best wishes! Adakiko (talk) 22:25, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are truly a lovely person, Adakiko (talk). I was going to email you privately, but I don't see the option to do so on your User page. I have been a professional journalist and editor for more than 40 years. If I can ever assist you, please feel free to call on me. It would be a pleasure to work with you. All the best to you.🙂 MarydaleEd (talk) 22:32, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MarydaleEd: Thank you for your kind assessment, MarydaleEd. I hope I live up to that! I believe I have email enabled. It appears that you do not. You may need to enable email on preferences->User profile/Email options and check Allow other users to email me. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 22:38, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I beg your pardon?

You kindly left a message on my Talk page:

"That links to the German Wikipedia page. Suggest reading the documentation of that template on [[{{{1}}}]] [] Cheers Adakiko (talk) 12:49, 30 January 2023 (UTC)"

Forgive me, but I have no idea what you are talking about. Perhaps you can clarify to what "That" refers. When you start a sentence with "That" in the manner in which you did on my Talk page, it behooves you to explain what "That" is or what it is referencing. The way you wrote it suggests that you and I were in a real-time conversation where I would have easily understood your meaning. I am sure you have an excellent point, I would just like to understand it. Thanks so much. 69.180.218.186 (talk) 22:14, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Red links should not exist when they link to pages that do not exist and will likely never be made. Because the German article does exist I will leave the red link. I wonder if you are German, yourself. If you are, I would like to encourage you to create the English article of the subject to which you have shown an interest and translate the German article into English. I would be happy to edit the English article when you are finished. I am unfamiliar with the people in this article, but I do hope you will create the English article for this woman's husband, if he deserves one. Let me know if I can help. All the best. Mavka new release date

Thanks to Mavka’s new English trailer, it’s clear that the new release date is March 2 2023 and needs to be on this list of animated movies of 2023 174.102.128.102 (talk) 04:25, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you are referring to. I make many edits. If a wp:reliable source is available, please cite it. A news source would be preferred the trailer may be self-serving; it could be someone's hope. See help:referencing for beginners. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 04:48, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Adakiko,

Please take a moment to fix your signatures at User talk:Faran315. A few more seconds of effort invested in dealing with the user's questions could probably also have helped.

Faran315 doesn't seem to have made test edits, so the first warnings were expectably confusing. The first time you've mentioned verifiability concerns was in one single final warning, referring to the BLP policy as if you had previously warned them about it.

Also, as I wrote months or years before (I think via e-mail), I find your addition of "wp:" in front of every wikilink pretty unnecessary and confusing; it makes the resulting sentences harder to read. You may be interested in using the pipe trick.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 16:00, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, now it's time for me to apologize; most of my advice was probably unnecessary and talking down. I'm impressed by your edits to User talk:Faran315 and take all the concerns voiced above back. Thank you very much for the detailed advice you have provided to them, and please let me know if they still continue making the same edits again and again. 🌻 ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:10, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ToBeFree: My apology to you! Unfortunately, I did need the sharp elbow to the ribs hint. I should have started with the BLP. Need a warning template that is customizable for multiple issues. Or just type the message into the user's talk page. I seem to have Gary Larson's fisherman's dilemma BLP, test, unexplained deletion - which template? I think the "editing tests" was due to the broken citations in the references. [1] I don't recall that about the "wp:". You likely sent it and I read it reversewise; I have been confused when the "wp:" was not visible. I'm still having issues with Faran315 who seems to be focusing on the poorly written content. No editing since. Good hearing from you again and thank you for the apology! Cheers Adakiko (talk) 12:22, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, I once created User:ToBeFree/uw-combined-1. Sometimes, when there are actually two things I'd like to inform a user about, I do try to combine warnings of the same level. For example, I substitute {{uw-unsourced1}} and {{uw-delete1}} on the user's talk page, then edit the section and merge them to:

Information icon Hello, I'm ToBeFree. I noticed that you recently removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. Also, you added or changed content, but you didn't provide a reliable source. Please include a citation for such changes. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.

But of course that's not always an option. Also, when someone is disrupting really quickly, I do tend to place templates as quickly as possible and don't expect them to be read anyway. I then just want to make sure that I tried warning the stubborn editor.
Regarding the "wp:" prefix, it's not always bad to have, and I agree that a lack of it can also cause confusion. It depends on the sentence, I think.
  • "Please have a look at WP:X"
  • "Please have a look at the X policy"
for example, both look good to me.
might be strange. After all, it's a matter of one's personal writing style though. There's no clear "wrong" or "right".
Yeah, I'm afraid Faran315 might still intend to make exactly the same changes again instead of discussing them at Talk:Nawaz Sharif with citations. At that point, I'd probably (partially?) block for edit warring. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:44, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ToBeFree: Thanks for the barnstar! That makes RCP much more rewarding!
It would be nice if Huggle went over the talk page and history to generate an appropriate warning. On Huggle check boxes for the problems and it synthesizes the warning. Maybe just use an AI to do it all? Buy out a crypto mining operation and a few gigawatt nuclear power plants to operate it. Instead of clicking "revert" repeatedly, click "donate" repeatedly? Adakiko (talk) 12:55, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
😅 I'm afraid that might actually happen. All the best! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:56, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ToBeFree: I'll have to watch that YouTube fully. Glad I don't have any kids. I've urged others not to have kids. In 1980, I reverse engineered the Apple 2 computer. I understood what every chip on the mother board and disk controller did. I understood DOS. Now, I am computer illiterate; as is everyone else on the planet. This parody is likely soon to be reality. Though It will probably Google's AI, not an android... Adakiko (talk) 13:08, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the work you tirelessly do, day after day, to keep Wikipedia's article free from original research, strange claims by conspiracy theorists, pure vandalism and everything else that would otherwise make the encyclopedia a sad place. While we make no guarantee of validity, many readers do take Wikipedia's content at face value, and they can often safely do so partly because of your work. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:16, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This page about dhirendra Krishna shastri

One should not spread information about such fraudsters who are trying to radicalise India on basis of religion and play with peoples belief! 2405:201:3028:FA83:D1E0:E5E9:6A36:33CA (talk) 21:34, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Massacre, and its lack of stills or fragments

It is well attested that nothing remains of The Massacre, no telesnaps were taken and no footage at all is known to exist. I did not believe that removing the assertion that there are "stills and/or fragments" required a citation as that itself was an unsourced statement. The statement was part of the template which a clumsy editor must have copypasted. 92.21.249.87 (talk) 02:36, 21 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
