Kadinamkulam is situated 22 kilometers north of Trivandrum and is 20 Kilometers from the Trivandrum international airport (20 minutes drive), 22KM from Trivandrum railway station and bus stations. National highway #47 is 8 Kilometers away. Kadinamkulam is sorrounded by the Kadinamkulam Kayal in the east, The Arabian Sea in the west, The 'Puthencurichy' in the north and by 'Channankara' in the west. Kadinamkulam forms the part of Kadinamkulam panchayat of Trivandrum district.

The present scenario

The present population of Kadinamkulam is around 18000. Hindus,Muslims and Christians live here amicably.

The economy of Kadinamkulam mostly depends on the income generated by the people working in the Persian Gulf States. Other sources of income include from the traditional cottage industry of coir manufacturing, fishing, trading, coconut farming etc. Coir is manufactured from coconut husk which after a cubersome process is transfomed into variety of coir products. The coir products are sold mainly to the coir mills of Alappuzha and Cochin from where it is exported to many countries.

People here enjoy a cool and confortable life. Kadinamkulam is well connected by Kerala transport corporation buses plying every 30 minute to Trivandrum city.

What to see

Nature has endowed lavishly to the beauty of Kadinamkulam. The Kadinamkulam Kayal is one the most beautiful lakes to view. Major cinema/serials are being shot near to this lake side.

The golden sand beaches, Muthala pozhi, the backwaters, the traditional way of ladies spinning coir, the coconut groves, coconut trees with multiple trunks, snake boats and 'kettuvallams' are the most important attractions.

Major Temples

Kadinamkulam Mahadeva Temple is one of the most famous Shiva temple in South India. It is among the very few temple in south India where the Darsan is towards the west. (Darsan : To where the Lord is facing)

kadinamkulam Padickavilakom Bharanicadu Sree Bhagavathi Temple is the famous Bhadrakali temple located in kadinamkulam.Festival starts on the shivrathri day of every year.
