Tim Sheehy (Born November 18, 1985) is an American businessman in Montana and combat veteran who completed over 200 missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, South America, and the Pacific AO.
Early life and education
A graduate of the US Naval Academy class of 2008, Sheehy was the first Midshipman to complete the US Army Special Operations exchange program in which he was the first Midshipman to graduate from the elite United States Army Ranger School, finishing as an Honor Graduate of his class.
Military service
Sheehy completed over 200 missions as a Navy SEAL Officer and Team Leader, deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, South America and the Pacific AO. Over the course of these deployments, Sheehy was involved in dozens of engagements with enemy forces, earning him multiple combat decorations including the Bronze Star with Valor for Heroism in Combat and the Purple Heart Medal.
Career
After being wounded in combat and injured in the line of duty several times, Sheehy was medically discharged from the military. Upon separation from active duty, Sheehy moved to Montana to put down roots and start Bridger Aerospace in late 2014. From starting in a barn with an all veteran founding team, Sheehy led the growth of Bridger and its sister company, Ascent Vision Technologies(AVT), to over 300 employees, eventually taking Bridger public on the NASDAQ in 2023. Through his businesses, Sheehy has created hundreds of jobs and over one billion in enterprise value in the rural Montana economy. Today, Bridger Aerospace is a major Montana employer and recently joined the ranks of a small group of publicly traded companies in Montana.
Sheehy is an active firefighting pilot, protecting America from wildfires in the CL415EAF Super Scooper.
Personal life
Sheehy met his wife, Carmen Sheehy, at the Naval Academy. She served as a Marine Officer and is also a combat veteran. Sheehy and his wife Carmen are among the largest donors to the Bozeman Hospital and many other Montana charities, Sheehy and his wife are also teaching their four children to ranch on their 20,000-acre cattle ranch where they raise, feed and process cattle to help develop America’s food supply chain.
In a recent report by Axios, Sheehy is said to be considering a run for the United States Senate.
