Destruction after the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake.

The Hatay State Assembly Building (Turkish: Hatay Devleti Millet Meclisi Binası) was a historic government and legislative building in Antakya, Turkey which housed the state legislature of Hatay Province.

History

The building was built in 1927 by French architect Leon Benju. and opened in 1927, was originally designed as a movie theatre.[1] It later housed the state legislature of Hatay Province from 1939.[2] The building was purchased by the Hatay Governorate in 2019 and turned into a cultural centre. The building was largely destroyed in the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake.[3][4]
