I am a retired U.S. diplomat. My last overseas posting was as U.S. ambassador to Turkmenistan, where I served from January 2015 to June 2019. My languages, aside from English, are Russian (R-4+, S-4+), German (R-3, S-3), and very basic (never tested) Turkish, Spanish, and Turkmen.
