Megalodacne grandipennis is a species of pleasing fungus beetle, in the family Erotylidae.[1] It is endemic to Tanzania and Namibia.[2]

The species' name comes from Latin and Ancient Greek, "grandipennis" meaning "large wing" in Latin.[3] Megalodacne comes from Dacne, a genus of beetles and Megalo (Ancient Greek), meaning big. Megalodacne is the genus of Megalodacne grandipennis, thus the name.

As a species of Megalodacne, Megalodacne grandipennis feed on bracket fungi.[4]
