Ali Hassan Mohamed (Somali: Cali Xasan Maxamed) is a Somali politician in the country of Somaliland. He has been a Member of the Parliament of Somaliland (2005-2015), Minister of Public Work Housing Transportation and Roads (2015-2017), He is the current Minister of Water Resources Development Somaliland.[1]
Early life and education
Ali Hassan is a Somaliland politician who was born in Burao, Somaliland, in 1971. He grew up in Somaliland, where he spent most of his childhood. Hassan attended primary and secondary school in Burao, [2]the second capital of Somaliland
He graduated from Hargeisa University faculty of Law, and Gelisim university, Istanbul, Turkey.
Political career
Ali Hassan political career began in the early 2002 since he was one of the founders of Kulmiye political party. Throughout his career, he has held several high positions, including Member Parliament of Somaliland (2005-2015), Minister of Public Work Housing Transportation and Roads[3] (2015-2017), Minister of Water Resources Development (2021-Until now). In his role as a member of parliament, he received praise from the people for his efforts to improve the social services of his constituencies and as minister for improving infrastructures particularly roads.[4]
Ali Hassan was also widely praised for delivering water to various parts of the country, especially to the remote areas and Hawd plateau where there was no water.
