Plot synopsis

Template:Spoilers In order to qualify for continued employment by the police, Harry is forced to take a course in private detecting from aging P.I. Jim Brennan. But when Brennan is murdered by supernatural means, Dresden teams up with his assistant Liz (Claudia Black) to uncover the truth. They look into Brennan's latest case, which at first appears to be the usual tale of a cheating wife and jealous husband. But when the trail leads to a fertility clinic that employs mystics, Harry and Liz need to use every trick in the P.I. trade to keep from winding up like Jim Brennan.
