The reliability of a source depends on its context. Please supply the source, the article it is used in, and the claim it supports.

RFCs should only be started if there have been previous discussions.

Certain types of sources have specific guidelines: Self-published or social media sources are generally not reliable unless the author is a recognized expert, and cannot be used in articles about living people unless written by the subject about themselves. User generated content is largely unacceptable. Bias is not a reason in itself for a source to be unreliable, but may require in-text attribution. Medical sources may be held to a different standard than others in relation to biomedical information.
