If this article gets developed further, there may be a case for separating the geometrical and integrable systems points of view, even though they describe the same concept. For the moment, this article primarily adopts the latter point of view. Geometry guy 18:24, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Needs more references, further expansion, applications, links. Also a nice description of the linear Backlund transform for the sine-Gordon equation would be good. Geometry guy 18:26, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
