There are many delicacies the Philippines has to offer. This foods are a vital part of Filipino tradition and Culture. This delicacies been enjoyed by many generations of Filipinos. This foods depending on what region or province has many variety.
Sinakol
[edit]This Filipino kakanin is made from grated cassava and is steamed and the filling of it is the"bukayo" young coconut meat caramelized in brown or muscovado sugar . It is a fibrous snack.
Bibingka
[edit]Bibingka is one of many filipino delicacies created from rice it is usually eaten on holidays and festivities like Christmas. It is a kind of a rice cake made usually in a mold and is baked in charcoal. Bibingka comes with many toppings like grated coconut, margarine, cheese or caramelized sugar, bibingka has a distinct smokey flavor.
Maja Blanca
[edit]Maja Blanca is a Filipino dessert made from coconut milk, cornstarch, and sugar. Often called Coconut Pudding, this luscious dessert is easy to make and the ingredients are very common. Because of the simplicity of how it is made maja blanca is usually seen being sold at foods stalls and street corners by vendors and peddlers. it is also usually seen at the table during noche buena
Alupi
[edit]Most places in the Philippines have their own version of this cassava-based delicacy. In most parts of Western Visayas, this native delicacy is called alupi (or alupe). It is made with grated balinghoy (cassava) mixed with coconut milk and meat plus sugar and other flavorings. It is then wrapped in banana leaves and steamed.
Kalamay Hati
[edit]Kalamay-hati is native delicacy of the Visayas and basically made from a concoction of sticky rice flour , muscovado sugar and coconut milk. It is sold in halved coconut shells (bao) that are then sealed by "paper tapes".
Kumbo
[edit]refer to as banana fritters - saba dipped in batter then fried and sprinkled with sugar. Its filling snack and easy to make and is a staple snack made by moms across the Philippines for the whole family.
