Security Council Allocations

[edit]

There seems to be an unofficial policy that certain departments are to be held by Security Council states, which is also mentioned in multiple of the individual articles. I.e. the Department of Peacekeeping Operations is held by the French, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator by the British, which formerly occupied the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs which is now headed by Americans. I feel like this should be reflected in the article, the list of Under-Secretaries and various equivalent positions is essentially illegible in its current form anyway. Former Under-Secretary Jeffrey D. Feltman wrote about the practice extensively here jonas (talk) 15:19, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
