Redirect request

[edit]
Resolved
 – Moot: Ring game is no longer an article, but a disambiguation page, so no such redirects would make any sense any longer; article remains at cash game.

please redirect cash game and cash games to ring game, which shows up below 10 other results. thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.247.22.8 (talk) 18:46, 5 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Etiquette

 – No objections to the edit were raised.

I added "Etiquette usually discourages players from cashing out immediately after winning a large pot, particularly in private games." but it was removed. Is this really not common? Are you really saying that in any private game, it would be ok to arrive at the game, win a huge pot, then leave before the next hand? Stevage 05:03, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page rename request

[edit]
Resolved
 – Article is now at cash game, and ring game is a disambiguation page.

As per my recent edit, I think that it would be much more appropriate to have this article entitled "cash game" and have "ring game" redirect to it. As indicated by my reference to Super System 2, "ring game" is actually a rather ambiguous term that has various definitions in common usage. FlowerChildXL (talk) 00:36, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Brunson's definition

[edit]

I know he's a famous (even iconic ;) player but I think adding his obscure definition of "ring game" unnecessarily confuses the reader. Hazir (talk) 21:46, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Since it exists, a case can be made that it can be made, and even suggests that this is a more appropriate URL than the ring game URL, but it should be clear in the article that Brunson's def is the exception, not the norm. 2005 (talk) 00:24, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
