CONS is not a protocol, it is part of a service definition: X.213. CONP X.223 is one way of providing the CONS service. It is CONP that is basically X.25 as you can see even from the X.223 title. — Dgtsyb (talk) 10:44, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there are CLNP/CLNS, but CONP/CMNS (Connection-Mode Network Service), not CONS.

Ok, looks like CMNS is a Cisco-specific term, or just obsolete name of CONS. Dgtsyb, thanks for correction.
