Title of the article

West Bengal and Bangladesh have two sarees with the same name, but they are actually different sarees in terms of weaving technique and design. That is why the article titles were kept as – Tangail Saree (West Bengal) and Tangail Saree (Bangladesh). Detailed information about the origin of the Tangail Saree (West Bengal) was mentioned with references. But, user রিজওয়ান আহমেদ moved (here) the article under the title Tangail Saree of West Bengal. His argument - Registered as GI as "Tangail Saree of Bengal". And, "Bengal" refers to West Bengal of India. Hence, the title "Tangail Saree of West Bengal" is accepted in the outside world. He derives the title of the article from the title mentioned in the GI tag, which is against the wiki's "Use commonly recognizable names" policy. He may have forgotten that two sarees are different from each other. Current GI tag issue

Although both historically originating from Tangail region of Bangladesh(hence the name Tangail saree)India had managed to receive its GI tag.Current publication of India as regarding Tangail saree as a product originating in West Bengal has sparked protests all over Bangladesh in the early days of 2024,especially in the capital city of Bangladesh,Dhaka.With the inaccuracy in giving the GI tag to the wrong country,it is strictly advisable to properly fact check any sources that is published anywhere in the internet regarding the origin of this saree. 114.130.184.96 (talk) 00:27, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
