River flood warnings are an importantly separate type of flood warning. in modern systems, river flood warnings are issued county by county while "flood warnings" or areal flood warnings are issued polygonally (often in the shape of counties, but not always).  --Bowser the Storm Tracker  Chat Me Up 06:43, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
