Legal battle over the Mercedes
[edit]I've been seeing on the news that there's a legal battle over treasure from a Spanish ship called the Mercedes - I thought they said it was sunk in 1805 on the news, but it may have been 1804. They say there's a legal battle with Spain and some divers over salvaged treasure from the ship. I did some perusing and I'm assuming the treasure ship is the one mentioned in this article. I'm assuming other people will find this page as the news proliferates, hopefully someone will have more information. (I just wanted to start a thread to bring up the issue).
