Ullu is an Over-The-Top media streaming platform, founded by Vibhu Agarwal, Who is also the owner of Atrangii, which offers similar content like Ullu. Ullu is known for creating bold but B grade type of content with few B grade models, And this model is in almost all of its shows. The content of this platform is all about sex and sleaze. Ullu has been continuously criticized by the people and the government for spreading vulgarity and obscenity.[3][4][5][6][7]

Regulatory body tells OTT platform ULLU to take down ‘obscene’ content. The order comes after a complaint was filed with the DPCGC against ULLU, which stated that web series on the platform only had obscenity and nudity. The complainant said that such content flouted IT Rules 2021 and IT Act Section 67-A, which prevent publishing and transmitting obscene and sexually perverted materials.[2][8][9][3]

In June 2023, India shown concerned about obscenity and asking streamers to check their content before putting online.[10]

In Nov 2023, I&B ministry has released , Broadcasting Service (Regulation) Bill 2023, which will regulate OTT content with Programme Code and Content Evaluation Committee. Currently this Bill is open for public consultation.[11]
