Character list
Classifications such as "antagonist" should be avoided per WP:ANTAGONIST. Also, we don't need a list of every single minor character that has appeared on the show, most of them are likely non-notable if they haven't appeared in more episodes. nyuszika7h (talk) 17:34, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
English dub first?
Can someone help dig through the blogs and confirm whether the episodes were written and dubbed for English first and then French? I heard it mentioned on some of the fan tumblrs. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 03:25, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- That reminds me of an interesting thing I noticed on Netflix... the French subtitles seem to be a translation of the English dub rather than what's actually spoken in the French dub. nyuszika7h (talk) 09:47, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- Found this post recently on Team LoliRock. This should confirm it: [1] AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 21:59, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
Etymology
This was removed from the article:
- The title itself, LoliRock, comes from the name of the band, and according to an interview on the official site, it is a play on "LOL," "i" as in the Spanish conjunction meaning "and", and the word "rock."
I found this out from https://www.reddit.com/r/MLPLounge/comments/4hdkq7/anyone_heard_of_this_show_called_lolirock/. So what is the actual etymology of "LoliRock"? Does the "Loli" part come from this meaning of the word "loli":
- (I) https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/loli
- (i) https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lolicon
- [...]
- [...]
- [...]
- (ii) https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lolita
- (a) A young girl who is sexually alluring.
- (b) (fashion) A follower of lolita fashion.
- (i) https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lolicon
?
If it does, is it based on (b), (a), or something else? I feel like it is based on (b), but IDK. --User123o987name (talk) 08:06, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
- Well, looking at some screenshots online, the characters certainly aren't drawn like actual loli characters found in manga, so I'd say it's more of a fashion thing. ~Anachronist (talk) 02:13, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
