Khalil Hachimi Idrissi (خليل الهاشمي الإدريسي; 14 August 1956- 8 April 2023)[1][2] was a Moroccan journalist and Director General of the Maghreb Arabe Press.

Life

Khalil Hachimi Idrissi was born on 14 August 1956, in Casablanca, Morocco. He obtained his third cycle diploma from the Institute of Geography of the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

He began his career in the media collaborating in various media and radio stations in France. After his return to Morocco, he worked as a columnist, journalist and editor-in-chief for many years at the weekly Maroc Hebdo International, before founding in 2000 the French-language daily Aujourd'hui Le Moroccan” .

In 2007, he chaired the National Journalism Grand Prize Committee. The following year he is elected president of the Moroccan Federation of Newspaper Editors (FMEJ), being re-elected in 2011. This same year, Mohamed VI of Morocco appointed him general director of the Moroccan news agency Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP).[1]

As a writer he has several books, including
