Northeast Creek is a 13 mi (21 km) long 4th order tributary to the New Hope River in North Carolina. Northeast Creek joins the New Hope River within the B. Everett Jordan Lake Reservoir.

Course

Northeast Creek rises in a pond west of Rigsbee Road on the ridge between the Cape Fear River Basin and the Neuse River Basin divide in Durham, North Carolina. Norhtheast Creek then flows southwest to meet New Hope River in the B. Everett Jordan Lake Reservoir in Chatham County. [4]

Watershed

Beaver Creek drains 122.23 km2 of area, receives about 116.1 in/year of precipitation, has a topographic wetness index of , and had an average water temperature of ;°C. In 2019,the watershed was 56% developed, 1.83% agricultural, 37% forested, and 1.21% open water. [5]

Water Quality

Northeast Creek was given a water quality index grade of 67 by the 2022 State of Our Streams Report published by the City of Durham. [6]
