Rename article: digital fingerprinting.

This is clearly not a hash function: it doesn't complete the second requisite, which is to distribute the results of the function in a random manner across the table. 88.14.223.69 (talk) 06:46, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But this is how it is called. Correct or not, we have to adhere to how concepts are expressed in a given language.
However, it may be a good idea that you modify this article to explain why using "hashing" in this case is not appropriate so everyone (including me) can learn. That is the point of Wikipedia. So please add your input to this article. Steff-X (talk) 14:13, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
