Weston Turville Castle is a motte-and-bailey in Buckinghamshire. It is uncertain when the castle was built but the earliest surviving mention of the castle is from a charter dated to around 1145. It was demolished (slighted) in 1173–74 on the orders of Henry II.[1] Peter Yeoman carried out a rescue excavation at Weston Turville Castle in 1985 ahead of a proposed development.[2][3] The castle is protected as a scheduled monument.[4]
