Classification of winners

[edit]

Generally, Volleyball World League and Volleyball Grand Prix Titles' Winners are not considered as World Champions of Indoor Volleyball. (Both are commercial competitions only!) 198.155.145.88 06:37, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FIVB World titles (World champion) always refers to 3 Majors (3 quadrennial events - World Cup, World Championship and Olympic Games, but NOT World League for men and World Grand Prix for women) For example, Brazilian Women's Volleyball National Teams won 6 overall and 3 straight World Grand Prix, but never won the 3 majors. Generally, FIVB and sports media does not consider them as World champion. [1] 198.155.145.86 07:14, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While all that may be true, this page is a list of "title winners" not "World Champions". The World League and World Grand Prix are definitely titles, so I will revert --Pak21 08:13, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

I suggest this page and List of Indoor Volleyball World Medalists be merged into one page, the other page contains more content but this one's name is better. You can see that some of the pages that are linked with this page in other languages have the same content as List of Indoor Volleyball World Medalists.
