Malik Sumeed (born March 4, 1992) is an Indian journalist.[1] He has also been involved in some short films as a marketing head and an online editor.[2]

Early life and education

Malik Sumeed was born in Kashmir, India, on March 4, 1992. He completed his schooling from Muslim Public School, Rajbagh, Srinagar. He graduated from the Punjab Technical University with a Bachelor of computer applications.> He also holds a Master in business administration degree.[3]

Career

Malik Sumeed started his career as a journalist in 2012, working for various print and electronic media outlets in Jammu and Kashmir[4]. He covered various topics such as politics, sports, entertainment, and social issues.[5]

In 2015, he moved to Mumbai, the entertainment capital of India, to pursue his passion for Bollywood journalism. He became the first Bollywood journalist from Jammu and Kashmir, and interviewed many celebrities and personalities from the film industry. He also handled the public relations and marketing of some Bollywood projects, such as Gedi Route, Love Square, Ghar mein hai Ghalib, and Khwaishon ka scooter. He also worked as an online editor for some short films, such as Love Square and Ghar mein hai Ghalib.[6]

In 2020, he joined Flock Entertainment, a global media company that produces and distributes content for TV channels, digital platforms, and OTT services. He is currently working as the marketing head of Flock, an official OTT platform of Flock Entertainment that offers original shows in Urdu and other languages.[7]

Personal life

Malik Sumeed is from Aloosa Bandipora. He is a Muslim. He is also a sports enthusiast and a fan of cricket and football.[8]

Malik Sumeed has received several awards and recognition for his work as a journalist and a media professional. Some of them are:

  • Best Journalist Award from the Jammu and Kashmir Kashmit Scenario Association
  • Young Achiever Award.
  • Best Marketing Head Award from the Flock Entertainment in 2021
