The Mimic is an adventure-horror game made by MUCDICH on the platform Roblox.
Set in Japan, there are going to be approximately four books, each likely to have at least four chapters, and featuring one beast to be the main antagonist, along with many other monsters in the game, each with a different storyline.
The Mimic, chronologically, released 6 chapters that are separated between 2 books; Control and Jealousy. The game is now 2 years and counting since its release. The seventh chapter is now currently in development.
The Mimic also has an extra gamemode called The Witch Trials. It is a prequel to the main events of the game and partially to Control's Book.
A survival spin-off game of The Mimic, titled Yōkai, is currently in development. This is a survival game with gameplay mechanics similar to Piggy and Flee The Facility.
Plots
Overall
Four stories created from Japanese history and urban legends with a twist. In each book, you will find yourself as different characters venturing into the unknown depths of mysterious worlds and facing the entities who started it all.
Control's Book
A former high school graduate named Yasu Masashige goes back to his old high school in search of his missing friends. Eventually, he ventures into the depths of an unknown dimension of his home country, and meets a demonic entity responsible for cursing his ancestry. He must defeat her once and for all in order to free his ancestors and his parents.
Jealousy's Book
A younger brother named Isamu Uchiumi sets out on a journey to an island to investigate his older brother, Senzai Uchiumi’s death case. Unfortunately, a huge entity knocks him out as he then explores the mysterious world under the sea to face it.
More about the plot will be added as more of the story unravels after each chapters.

Trivia
- Some of the female antagonists' names end with "ko" (子) (e.g Kuriko, Kazeko, Keiko).
- When a given name of a monster isn't written in kanji, the names are written in hiragana.
- Nearly almost every single chapter may have a respective maze.
- Keiko Masashige is the only monster so far that replaces another monster during Nightmare Mode.
- Shizu and Tokito have a similar gameplay from Little Nightmares 2. In the hospital, where you have to look at them while moving, or else they will kill you.
- All of the chapters are described in Roman numerals.
