Films

[edit]

Regarding the "Films" section, I just found a CC-BY license movie made by Weybec but having the "Blender Institute presents" in the intro - File:Monkaa.webmYouTube (6 minutes). I'm not sure if it's OK to add it into the list. —  Ark25  (talk) 23:40, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On the official YouTube channel of the Blender Foundation there is a playlist called Official Blender Open Movies.
According to the playlist Monkaa is not an official open movie by the Blender Institute. The current template list (Elephants Dream, Big Buck Bunny, Sintel, Tears of Steel and Cosmos Laundromat) is missing Caminandes 2: Gran Dillama, Cosmos Laundromat - First Cycle, Glass Half, Caminandes 3: Llamigos, The Daily Dweebs and Agent 327: Operation Barbershop
A list of "open projects" on the blender cloud however lists Monkaa.
I would say it depends if Monkaa is made by the Blender Institute, the Blender Animation Studio or any other official animation studio of the Blender Foundation. If yes it should be added to the list. If not there could/should be a category for films that were (partially) created using Blender. Another example for that would be Cinderella the Cat: Created with blender, but not an open movie and not created by the Blender Animation studio. So there is no reason why it should be in the template for the Blender Foundation.
