Katie White OBE is the Labour party's parlimentary candidate for Leeds North West in the 2024 United Kingdom general election.

Career and Education

White graduted from the University of Glasgow in 2003 with a degree in Politics. She went on to work in at Friends of the Earth during her time there, Katie co-lead the campaign for the Climate Change Act 2008.[1]

In 2009 White aided the UK goverment to prepare for United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen,[2] and went on to work at the newly created Department for Energy and Climate Change. She has also worked for WWF as Director for Campaigns and Advocacy[1] and in 2019 she joined Nord Agnlia Education, leading their charitable foundation.[3]

Candidacy

Following a hustings in Novemeber 2023, White was selected as the Labour Party candidate for the next general election;[4] which would later be called to take place on 4 July 2024.

Awards

White's campaigning work led to her being granted an OBE in 2013.[3]
