Bushra Razack is a South African community development specialist.[1]

She was born in Cape Town and is the CEO of Philippi Village, a community development hub in Philippi, Cape Town.[2]

Early life

Bushra Razack (2 May 1986) was born in Cape Town, South Africa. At the age of twelve, she represented South Africa at the first World Youth Congress known as the Millennium Young People's Congress in Honolulu County, Hawaii.[3] She is a co-author of the book :"Rescue Mission", a youth assessment of the UN's Millennium Development Goals which was launched at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa.[4]

She is involved with Philippi Village, a community development hub that is changing lives[5] in Philippi and surrounding communities.[6] In 2024 Philippi Village recieved the Best Social Enterprise in Africa Award at the Forty under 40 at an award ceremony held on the 30th of March 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya. [7]

In 2018 She was counted amongst the Top Young Independents.[9]

She was also awarded the Power Woman Award as Innovation Woman 2018.[10]
