Stephen L. Goldfinch (born November 19, 1982) is an American politician. He is a member of the South Carolina Senate from the 34th District, serving since 2016.[1] He is a member of the Republican party.[2]
Goldfinch, a captain in the National Guard, was reported injured on August 1, 2023, during a deployment to Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti. He was transported to Germany for surgery and rehabilitation, and is expected to make a full recovery.[3]
South Carolina Congressman Russell Frye posted about the incident on social media.[4] Later, reporters uncovered that the injury occurred during a gym workout at the base and was not related to any deployment related activities on-or off the base.[5]
In June 2023, Goldfinch endorsed Tim Scott in the 2024 United States presidential election.[6]
