† 1992 ECC tournament winner Rankings from AP Poll[1] |
The 1992 East Coast Conference men's basketball tournament was held March 7–9, 1992.[2] The champion gained an automatic berth in the 1992 NCAA tournament.
On the tournament's first day, UMBC scored a tournament-record 115 points in an overtime victory over Central Connecticut State, but Towson State broke it later the same day in a 122–58 win over Buffalo.[3]
The East Coast Coast Conference′s membership fell to three schools the following season, causing it to lose its official conference status, so no ECC tournament took place in 1993. After the ECC regained its official conference status for the 1993–94 season, it held its final tournament in 1994.
