The 2022 Australian winter was an average year for Australian winter, having an average temperature of 0.36°C above the 1961–1990 average, yet still the coldest winter since 2014.[1] The winter season began with the June winter solstice on June 21, and concluded on September 23 with the September equinox.[2] The meteorological winter officially began on June 1 and concluded on August 31.
