Queer.pl (formerly innastrona.pl) is the oldest and more popular[1] portal of culture, information and publications geared towards LGBT people. It was established in 1996 by Radosław Oliwa[2], wydawany przez queermedia.pl[3] and is published by queermedia[3]. In 2012 innastrona.pl refreshed it's look and changed name to queer.pl[4]. The portal is graded by Alexa ranking on 635 323th position (globally)[5].

Queer.pl is the oldest LGBT-related newsite on the European continent[6]

Website's goals

The website supports such events as Pride Parade in Warsaw and Kraków, participates in public debate about topics such as [[civil partnershi[]], coming out, outing, cooperates with Polish LGBT oerganisations such as Campaign Against Homophobia[7] or Lambda Warsaw[8]. Since 2012 it organizes in Kraków a series of meetings and debates called Klub Queer.pl[9].

The portal cooperates or cooperated with manywell-known publicists, activists, people of culture and art, bloggers etc. such as: Mariusz Kurc (mku; redaktor naczelny czasopisma „Replika”)[10], Łukasz Maciejewski[11], Bartosz Żurawiecki[12], Janusz Marchwiński (jm)[10], Witold Jabłoński[13], Jacek Kochanowski (jk)[10], Tomasz Sikora (ts)[10], Krzysztof Tomasik (kt)[10], Marcin Pietras (mp)[10], Edward Pasewicz[14], Ewa Tomaszewicz[15], Mariusz Drozdowski (Jej Perfekcyjność)[16], Anna Krystowczyk[10].

In 2007, in the first edition of the award of Economic Society for Gays and Lesbians, the website got 1st place in the category the best internet portal LGBT[1].

Statistics

In 2006, the website was visited every month by 34% of Internet users identyfying as LGBT. According to a research company QM and Economic Society for Gay and Lesbians, the portal got then 55% of value of all internet advertisment directed towards LGBT people[17]..

According to research by Megapanel PBI/Gemius from july 2009, the monthly amount of users of the portal was around 170 000, and monthly amounts of visits was above 8 milion[10].

In 2014 apps of queer.pl ere published for IPhones, IPads and mobile devices with Android OS. In the early 2015, more than 10 000 people visited the website throught the Android app[18].
