The 2025 Asia Cup will be the 17th edition of the men's Asia Cup cricket tournament. It is scheduled to take place in India in October 2025 with the matches to be played in T20I format. The tournament will feature 6 teams. The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council, 
Afghanistan, 
Bangladesh, India, 
Pakistan, and 
Sri Lanka will directly qualify to the tournament. They will be joined by an associate team, that will qualify through the ACC Premier Cup tournament as the winner. India are the defending champions.[1]
Background
On 28 July 2024, the information was revealed following the Asian Cricket Council's (ACC) release of an Invitation for Expressions of Interest (IEOI) document on Saturday.
This document invites interested parties to submit their IEOI for ACC Sponsorship Rights for the period from 2024 to 2027.
The document also mentioned that all details, including schedules, dates, formats, and venues, are tentative and subject to change at the ACC's discretion without any liability.[2]
Format
The groups and format of the tournament will follow the similar structure from previous tournaments, with the six teams split into two groups of three. The top two teams from each group will qualify for a single group Super Four stage. The top two teams in this stage will contest the final for the Asia Cup trophy
Teams and qualification
The five full members of the Asian Cricket Council will qualify automatically for the tournament while one associate team will join them through the ACC Premier Cup.[3]
