'Yama-no Attchan' is the second album released by Shonen Knife. This one was named after Atsuko, their drummer, “-chan” being a familiar. It’s a charming recording. Basically, they were still learning how to play their instruments, and these early songs are some of the most creative of their career. They didn’t know the rules, so they did what felt right. The songs express a pure joy. ‘Flying Saucer Attack’ is a song originally by the Rezillos.

The original Japanese issue (Zero Records 0-0581) includes only 10 songs (Flying Saucer Attack and Secret Dance are not included). Its size is 8.5" x 8.5", unusual as an LP record.
