Tucker Tibor Max (born November 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American fratire writer known for chronicling his hedonistic lifestyle and drunken escapades on Tuckermax.com and its heavily-moderated forum. He is writing a sitcom pilot script for Comedy Central and now heads Rudius Media.[1] Max received a bachelor's degree from University of Chicago and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law. [2] At Duke, he posted an online "date application" that he transferred to Tuckermax.com, leading to a June 2003 appearance in "Sex2K", an episode of MTV's True Life[3]. Later that year, a judge ordered Max to remove from his site a story[4] about an ex-girlfriend who filed an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit,[5] but the case eventually was dismissed after legal fights including the ACLU stepping in on his behalf for First Amendment rights violation.[6] Max has repeatedly been challenged on the truthfulness of his stories. In 2006, radio hosts Opie and Anthony interviewed Max, and asked him to show a police report for a window he allegedly ran into with a car, as well as a video tape from a sexual encounter. When Max could not produce either, Opie and Anthony ripped up his book, threw it at him, and then compared him to James Frey.[7] At the March 2007 SXSW conference, Max said he used numerous e-mail addresses to spam other websites with links to his material in order to increase book sales.[8]
Recently the originality of the logo for the Rudius Media Message Board has been called in to question. The logo, which was created by Erin Tyler, has been seen by some to bare a striking resemblance to the promotional pictures used for the film Gladiator.
