Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising in articles. For more information on this, see

With respect to this edit summary: this was clearly not an act of vandalism, but rather a content dispute over cited information. Since it is cited, it should stay in unless convincing arguments are made for its removal. Calling somone a vandal when their edit was not vandalism is against WP policy on personal attacks. Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. IPSOS (talk) 03:14, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's not spam, it's a disambiguation link. They are quite common and have nothing to do with promotion. Removing it suggests that you need to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia a bit more or your editing might be taken as disruptive. IPSOS (talk) 03:52, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a conflict of interest?

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Inc., you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with,
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors,
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
    and you must always:
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.

Accounts used solely for blatant self-promotion may be blocked indefinitely without further warning.

For more details, please read the Conflict of Interest guideline. Thank you. GlassFET 17:27, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am neither a sockpuppeteer, nor am I a sock of anyone else. I merely am a disinterested party who objects to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Inc. using Wikipedia as a format for advertising. Certain users are editing articles that amounts to nothing less than advertising. This is not only in violation of Wikipedia's rules regarding advertising, but of conflict of interest as well. Any user who objects to their using Wikipedia for advertising purposes, the HOGD, Inc. socks an pupeteer reports to Wikipedia acusing the objective editors themselves of being either socks or sock pupeteers. Please reinstat me immediately and reevaluate what is happenning on the article concerning the article on the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It should be obvious to any administrator that what is actually happenning here is an attempt by the HOGD, Inc. to use Wikipedia for advertising purposes at the expenst of encyclopedic information.
