Hoedspruit (hat creek) is a town situated at the foot of the Klein Drakensberg ('Dragon Mountains'), in the Limpopo province of South Africa on the old Selati railway line from Phalaborwa to Kaapmuiden.

The town still small has grown in recent years due to its proximity to the Private Game reserves to the West of the Kruger National Park. The town has a large Air Force Base close by. The following lodger units are found on the base:- 19 Squadron (Oryx and Augusta Helicopters), LASS, Air Force Command & Control School, 101 Reserve Squadron and 514 Security Squadron. The base is also used for deployments from external units. The civilian sector have been given permission to land on the military runway system. They then move to the civilian terminal which is called Eastgate. There are now several scheduled airlines flying to this destination. The general area is renowned for the game reserves that surround it.
