Pacha is one the world's most celebrated clubbing franchises and has its home in Ibiza. The first Pacha club was opened in Sitges outside Barcelona in 1966. The Ibiza club, however, is the most well-known and prestigious venue today and is located in Ibiza Town. Pacha Ibiza was voted no. 4 in a poll of most popular nightclubs in 2006 conducted by DJ Magazine[1]

Franchises

Pacha today incorporates a worldwide franchise of hotels, stores and nightclubs. There are Pacha nightclubs in these locations, 14 are in Spain:

The club which opened in 1973 has undergone several rebuildings and enlargements and is one of (if not the) island's most famous and modern nightclubs. Its location is near the harbor in Ibiza Town. Pacha is the only major Ibiza nightclub which doesn't close its doors during the winter season. The club's capacity is 3.500 guests. Although Paul Oakenfold was resident DJ there for several years, Angel Linde is now resident. However, the Ibizan club is best known for nights such as "Pure Pacha" hosted by "Superstar" DJ's such as Pete Tong, every night during the summer months. The club was also featured in the 2004 movie It's All Gone Pete Tong. Musically, '‘Pacha’' is best known for house music but has five different rooms incorporating other musical styles. DJ Steve Lawler comments about Pacha in an interview with Ministry of Sound in 2006 that, "Pacha’s a great club with an amazing sound system and by far the best dancers / performers in the world"[2].
