Picross DS is a puzzle video game developed by Jupiter and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld video game console. It is based on the popular picross puzzles.

Gameplay

Gameplay follows traditional Picross rules, where players use logic to mark each square as full or empty, eventually revealing an unknown picture. Additional modes allow players to create their own puzzles and send them to friends, upload and download puzzles to and from Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, compete with friends in speed competitions, and complete puzzles on a daily basis.[2]

Trivia

  • The "Classic" puzzles that you can download are all from previous Picross games, namely Mario's Picross, Mario's Super Picross, and NP Picross Vol. 1 through 8. Mario's Picross 2 is the only game not included.
  • The music on the Classic puzzle selection menu originated in Mario's Picross, and also appeared in Mario's Super Picross (And also NP Picross Vol. 1-8, as they used the exact same music as Super Picross). The same goes for the music that plays while doing Normal Classic puzzles. While doing Free Classic puzzles, the Wario 1 BGM from Super Picross plays.
