speedies

Speedy as non notable is only for articles that make no claim to notability, and the article on Quinn Rankin asserted notability as an academic administrator. Personally, I agree it is probably not notable enough for WP, but it has to be deleted by WP:PROD or AfD. So I've declined to delete it, and I've sent it to prod.DGG 02:06, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tagged it as a CSD A7 but in retrospect Prod is more applicable, but somebody got it [1].--Sandahl 02:11, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Max Keiser article

Seriously, why was the Max Keiser article deleted?

  • he invented virtual markets
  • he has a deal with Al Jazeera English as a presenter
  • he started the Hollywood Stock Exchange
  • on which he owns numerous patents
  • which he then sold for millions
  • He's been on many TV networks including CNN, CNBC, France 24, Channel 4 (UK) and more...
  • He used to write articles in the Financial Times
  • and is now trying to get hedge funds to sell-short stocks that are being boycotted in a "smart boycott" fashion.

If that doesn't make someone reputable I really don't know what ever will.

Plus, a vast majority of people on his deletion discussion page supported keeping the article.

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my RfA. It was successful, and I am now, may God have mercy on us all, an administrator. Look at all the new buttons! I had heard about 'protect,' 'block user,' and 'delete,' but no one told me about 'kill,' 'eject,' and 'purée.' I appreciate the trust the community has in me, and I'll try hard not to delete the main page or block Jimbo. -FisherQueen (Talk) 18:00, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Forever Friends Entry

Hi, can you please confirm why the page was deleted? This is my first time using Wiki and i want it to be a steep learning curve. If it was because i edited the page too many times id like to mention that i have since discovered the sandbox feature.

Harvey's Point

Thanks. I was suddenly called away and didn't have time to close the debate until I came back. DrKiernan 15:47, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not even a reply regarding this? Why is a major location in Ireland not considered "notable"? I thought this was a world-wide encyclopedia? Irishjp 10:18, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's returned. See: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Harvey's Point. DrKiernan 15:51, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
