Lil Scrappy

Lil' Scrappy (born Darryl Kevin Richardson II on January 19, 1984 in North Trenton, New Jersey) is a rapper.

Biography

He was discovered by producer and performer Lil' Jon while performing at a bar, when a fight broke out during his set in his hometown of Atlanta. Along with labelmates Trillville, Lil' Scrappy was one of the first signings to Lil' Jon's BME Recordings.

Lil' Scrappy built a strong reputation and eager following throughout the southeast through mixtapes *and the street anthem of 2003 "Head Bussa," which was used as the theme for the 2004 Atlanta Braves. During this time, Lil' Jon inked a deal to bring his BME Recordings to Warner Bros. Records as a joint venture partnership.

Lil' Scrappy released a dual EP with labelmates Trillville entitled The King of Crunk & BME Recordings Present: Lil' Scrappy and Trillville in February 2004. The album featured production by Lil' Jon. Lil' Scrappy and Trillville had ten tracks each appear on this album. It was Lil' Scrappy's first credited album but his first official album is soon followed.

Lil' Scrappy's second single and second most commercially successful single to date, "No Problem", reached the top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100 and achieved the top 10 on the R&B and rap charts. Thanks to the success of "No Problem" and Trillville's hits "Some Cut" and "Neva Eva," the joint album reached #3 on the r&b chart and #12 on the Billboard 200 in 2004. It was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Lil' Jon invited Lil' Scrappy to participate on the track "What U Gonna Do" appearing on Lil' Jon's 2004 album Crunk Juice. "What U Gon' Do" was released as a single reaching #20 in the US in late December 2004 and reaching #30 in the UK in February 2005.

G-Unit

It has been rumored that Lil Scrappy would leave BME Records for G-Unit. Lil Jon and 50 Cent negotiated terms for BME artists to work with G-Unit, Scrappy being the first. However Warner Bros. Records state that Lil Scrappy is not sign to G-Unit. In "Money in the Bank" and "Gangsta, Gangsta", Lil Scrappy yelled out "G-UNIT!" in the beginning. This states that Lil Scrappy is loyal to the group, also in the song Gangsta, Gangsta, in the second and fourth chorus the last two lines are "Cuz I'm a (Gangsta, gangsta), Yea top of the list Gorilla Unit motherfucker - Git cha mind right bitch!" Note that G-Unit stands for Gorilla Unit

Incident With The Game

On June 16 2007 at Birthday Bash sources revealed to VIBE that rapper Lil Scrappy had saw G-Unit's rival The Game backstage. Lil Scrappy yelled out, " I see You Nigga," to The Game. It was known that The Game got into a argument with Lil Scrappy, but no physical altercation has been reported. The Game was onstage saying 'G-Unot.' This was known to be disrespecting to Lil Scrappy who was in his home town. Both Lil Scrappy and The Game declined to comment. The incident may continue the ongoing beef between G-Unit and The Game and that Lil Scrappy may take part in the feud.
