102.5 WMYI-FM "My 102.5" is an adult contemporary station serving Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville and surrounding areas. The station is licensed to Hendersonville. It is owned by Clear Channel Communications. Their slogan is "The Best Mix Of Yesterday & Today." It's main competitor is "Magic 98.9" WSPA-FM.

History

Before moving it's studios to Greenville SC, this station was WKIT-FM "Kit Country" in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Once the new transmitter was complete, the station stunted with the "Beverly Hills Cop" soundtrack.

WMYI enjoyed huge success shortly after it was born in 1987, with the popular "Love and Hudson" Morning Show. During the mid to late 90's, the station was less successful in Arbitron, but enjoyed a return to the top of the ratings by 2006. In Fall 2006, WMYI was #1 both 12+ and 25-54 in the Greenville-Spartanburg market, surging past in-house country sister WSSL-FM and showing favorable numbers in the northern part of the market on Saturday and Sunday nights.
