Viktor Troicki (Serbian Cyrillic: Виктор Троицки, born February 10, 1986 in Belgrade) is a Serbian tennis player. He is currently ranked No. 176 player on ATP singles rankings; fifth Serbian tennis player.
Tennis career
He is currently in Umag, where he, as a qualifier, made his first win over top ten player, a countryman and friend Novak Djoković in a second round. This is just fourth ATP tournament for Viktor. Until this week, Troicki hadn't won an ATP match this year. In the quarterfinals, Troicki defeated Carlos Berlocq 7-5 6-2 and will play Romanian Andrei Pavel, the conqueror of Filippo Volandri, in the semifinals. Pavel beat Viktor 6-3 6-3 and after the match he sad " I physically could not take it anymore. I was tired."
The only previous Top 10 opponent Troicki faced was No. 1 Roger Federer in the second round of Tokyo last year when he was ranked No. 276. He lost that match in two tie-breaks.
Personal life
Started playing tennis at the age of 5 . His father Aleksandar is a lawyer and his mother Mila is a housewife. While a teenager from 13 to 15 he practiced in Boca Raton, Florida. Currently he is practicing in Halle, Germany. Viktor is a big fan of football and cheers for Belgrade's Partizan.
