Syn Shenron and Omega Shenron
I think that Syn Shenron (Yi Xing Long) and Omega Shenron are really two different beings. Even though it takes on the appearance of Syn, Omega is really a fusion of all the dragons. It's like saying that Goku is the same as Gogeta or that Vegito is the same is Vegita. Also, there is a distinct name change, if they were the same and Omega was just sort of like a "form" name, they would've still called him Syn Shenron then, like how they call SSJ4 Goku just Goku. Even though in the japanese version they call him Yi Xing Long still, I really think that Omega and Syn shenron are two different beings, does anyone else agree? I propose that we add another section to the "Evil Dragons."
Super Yi Xing Long (FUNimation dub: Omega Shenron) Super Yī Xīng Lóng (超一星龍, Supaīshinron, lit. "Surpassed One-Star Dragon, Super One-Star Dragon") was created when Yi Xing Long absorbed the other Dragon Balls. In appearance he looks like similar to Syn Shenron, except with all 7 dragonballs on his chest with the one star ball in the middle and some body changes. He wields all the abilities of the Evil Dragons, such as Si Xing Long's ability to turn his skin burning hot and San Xing Long's powers to freeze and blind. He is the most powerful villain in the Dragon Ball Universe, and apart from the Super Saiyan 4 Fusion Gogeta (who failed due to his own cockiness) the most powerful fighter at the very end. He was finally defeated by a Genki Dama with energy gathered from all over the universe. I don't know about the pronounciation, im going by the chinese pronounciation. We can add more if this becomes a section.--stevarn 13:23, June 9, 2007.
Proposed Merger
I think that Kaio should be merged into this article, since this article contains much of the information that is within the Kaio article.--Vercalos 01:16, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
I disagree.not
Kaio should just be people like West, East, North, South, Grand, Old, and Supreme Kai. People like Kami, Dende, and Mr. Popo do not fall into that category, so should remain separate in this list.--icehcky8 21:52, 14 July 2006.
- I mean that Kaio should be put into this article, since most of it is already here, and that Kaio should be made a redirect to here. Perhaps I was unclear in my original message?--Vercalos 08:14, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah, ok. No, that would be good. (It appears that has already happened though, good call). --icehcky8 04:07, 25 September 2006.
Elder Kai
Why not give him his own article?--Suit-n-tie 20:15, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- Not enough info to make more than a stub article? I really don't know, though, as I haven't really watched DBZ past the Cell Saga.--Vercalos 04:32, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know...maybe I should ask somewhere else....thanks tho'.--Suit-n-tieSuit's Talk 04:40, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Missing pictures...
For the characters that are only mentioned in this article, I think they all deserve a picture. I can take snapshots from the anime, but I was just letting you know here first before I do. -Matt 16:46, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Alright, I've added pictures for the minor Kaioshin (i.e. only appear in episode 277 unlike the East Kaioshin and Old Dai Kaioshin) as well as Kibito. If anyone remembers which episode the two oni appear in (Japanese episode numbering please), let me know as I can get a picture of them as well. -Matt 17:31, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Moving this article?
Hi. This is fairly non controversial, but I thought I'd get consensus first. Technically "Deities" should not be capitalized, so I'd suggest moving this article to List of deities in Dragon Ball. Cheers! Yuser31415 (Editor review two!) 07:08, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Names
While I don't like to get into the "subbies vs dubbies" debate, since this page is in English, shouldn't the English names be used? At the very least, when there's a discrepancy (such as Dabra, who was called Dabura in the dubbed episodes), shouldn't both names be listed? Not every user will know about the discrepancy, and this would be very alienating and confusing for such a user. 129.237.90.54 21:32, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
No, Wikipedia is focused worldwide not only to Funimation's domain, there is a small line that says "Funimation dub name xxx" so that is covered. -DDF 21:34, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Dende/Kami
While these two were both Kami of Earth, they are 'mere' Namekians. Should they really be on this page? Retlor 01:59, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
The titles
Some pimply faced card collecting loser put pictures in a lot of the titles so they're messed up.
--RucasHost 01:39, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
I fixed the subheadings and moved around several images. While I share your frustration with the poor formatting that I found here, I think it's completely inappropriate to call someone a "pimply faced card collecting loser". The article still needs work, but is at least readable again now. Nswinton\talk 16:30, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- I returned today to find that every single character in the entire article was given a mention in the TOC. While this may seem like a good idea to some, it makes the table of contents actually HARDER to navigate, and makes the article more complex than necessary. The TOC only needs to list the basic summary of the article, not every minute detail. Keep that in mind when adding 5th tier subsection - it's all going to be shown in the Table of Contents, and it's going to get ugly. Nswinton\talk 17:39, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Japanese version of such article?
If you compare this English article with the Français and Italiano versions, this article is still too long. Since the original cartoon is in Japanese, I think the English version of this article should not be longer than the Japanese version. Tonytypoon 21:38, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
Do all these charcters need to be merged?
Come on, North Kaio, Kami, Dende, Shenron, Porunga, Yi Xing Long and East Kaioshin need to have their own articles. Many of them were merged simply because that the categories they fit in were too large. Now there too small. All of them are very important charcters. Uglyguy2006
I definitely agree with the ones you mentioned up till Shenron. I'm undecided regarding Porunga, though I think the Supreme Kai(s) are worthy enough. I really can't say much about Syn/Omega Shenron, since I never watched DBGT. Melee Ace 01:24, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Dende photo.jpg
Image:Dende photo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Uh, what happened to the images?
They were all low-res, fair use images. Since they don't get their own articles, they could at least get their own images... -Matt 16:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Black-Star Shenlong
I could've sworn the black star balls were spread around the galaxy instead of universe... GreenAiden555 05:46, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
South Kaioshin
The article says that the South Kaishin was muscular, when he was actually fat. This needs to be fixed.
- Let me get this right, you see some mistake in the article but are too lazy to fix it... So instead you opted to post 'hey somethings wrong somebody fix it'. I never saw South Kaioshin so I can't say it's right or not. Though based on the picture of Buu, the nickname (Buff-Buu), and the fact that Majin-Buu usually takes on some physical charicteristics of the beings he absorbs, I have to say my instincts say he's muscular. Though I don't really know.--MysticGohan 10
