In 2002, Jorge Acuña signed a contract with Dutch club Feyenoord. In 2005, the club loaned him to RBC Roosendaal.

He played for RBC Roosendaal until the summer of 2006 when his contract expired (it was never renewed).

However the English club Blackburn Rovers showed interest in signing the Chilean player, but there was never a contract offer.

Local rivals to Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic took the Chilean on trial on the 17th of January 2007, but he finally signed with Universidad de Chile.
